~ CLOSED ~ Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns About Sportsmanship: Winning Isn’t Everything ~ Review & Giveaway ~

I was recently given the opportunity to review, Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns About Sportsmanship: Winning Isn’t Everything, written by Howard Binkow and Susan F. Cornelison; one of the magnificent books in the Howard B. Wigglebottom series.

I’m familiar with the free online animated series, but had never before read one of the “real” books.  Maybe I’m being old school, but let’s face it, there’s something extra special and very cozy about cuddling up with the kids at bedtime, to read a great book!

Like all the other books in the Wigglebottom series this is a wonderful book for children. The illustrations are vibrant and fun and the book introduces 4-8 year olds to concepts like respect, camaraderie, teamwork and the pleasure of playing sports and games for the fun of it.  This is the tenth book in the award winning Howard B. Wigglebottom series.

At the back of the book parents and teachers will find helpful tips and lesson plans to educate young readers.

The We Do Listen Foundation is a non-profit organization that creates entertaining, educational books and songs to help young children be better listeners, learn important life lessons and feel better about themselves. The website offers free animated versions of the books, plus colour & print pages, lessons/posters, and songs as well as many other teaching and parenting resources. To find out more, visit www.wedolisten.org.
