CLOSED ~ Lighthouses of the Maritimes ~ {“Canadians Welcome, Eh” Giveaway Hop}

Welcome to the “Canadians Welcome, Eh”  Giveaway Hop hosted by Simply Stacie & Sassy Mama in LA!

 This event features all Canada friendly giveaways!

All the giveaways will be either open to Canada, US & Canada or worldwide and will run from May 21 to 30th.

I’m calling my prize package “Lighthouses of the Maritimes” –

Representing Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick is a pair of stunning 5×7 photos taken by well known Maritime photographer, Catherine White, owner of Oak Lawn Images.

Panmure Head Lighthouse - Panmure Island, Prince Edward Island

The wooden, octagonal light tower was constructed in 1853. This light was used as a coast light serving considerable steamer, schooner, and fishing boat traffic. In 1908, the wooden frame structure, fog alarm building and garage were built. In 1909, the dwelling was built. (It was reconstructed in 1958) This is P.E.I.’s oldest wooden lighthouse.

Renforth Lighthouse - Renforth, New Brunswick

This happens to be another wooden, octagonal lighthouse.  This one is located at Renforth Cove, on the east side of the Kennebecasis River. It was built in the 1980′s as a private navigational aid.

Representing Nova Scotia is a locally hand crafted, pewter lighthouse keytag depicting Peggy’s Point Lighthouse, located in Peggy’s Cove, N.S.

Peggy’s Cove is one of the busiest tourist attractions in Nova Scotia. The community’s famous lighthouse marks the eastern entrance of St. Margarets Bay and is officially known as the Peggy’s Point Lighthouse.

According to legend, Peggy’s Cove was named after the only survivor of a schooner that ran aground and sank in 1800… a woman named Margaret. Local folk called her “Peggy” and her home came to be known as Peggy’s Cove.

WIN IT - One reader of Older Mommy Still Yummy is going to win the ”Lighthouses of the Maritimes” prize package described above.
