This past Sunday, along with several other volunteers, I participated in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup; we had a lot of fun and collected quite a bit of debris. Have a look below to see some of what we collected!

Its amazing, not to mention sad, what gets chucked out and into the waterways… Thanks for sharing all the same!
Mines up as well at AussiePomm – Cymbidium Orchids
Have a great WW!!
It’s very sad that people still think it’s OK to just throw bottles, plastic and even a broken lawn chair onto a beach…what are they thinking??
It was fun and certainly a big surprise, since we first thought the beach seems so pristine.
I think 12 year old Becky said it best. (I’m paraphrasing) “If people wouldn’t leave junk around, then other people wouldn’t have to take their own time and pick up after them. “
Becky is so right Kathy, it just boggles my mind that people continue to show such disregard for their environment.
it amazes me what people just toss on the ground! Good for you for helping to clean it up :)
It was a fun afternoon Tara and quite an eye opener and a good lesson for everyone of us!
That looks like a gorgeous place. Thanks to your family for taking the time to help clean it up.
It is a very gorgeous place Lisa Marie and it is so difficult to believe that some people could be so thoughtless.
It’s disgusting what people will toss in places that should be taken care of better. Good job with the clean-up!
Thanks Elizabeth, we had a lot of fun and we all learned some great environmental lessons.
Wow. What a great thing you did!!
It was fun and helped the environment at the same time!
Hurrah for cleaning up, love this!
It was a fun afternoon Rosey and great for everyone to learn about our possible negative impact on the environment.
What a fun event that would be! It sure amazes me some of the things that end up on the shores, though…:(
It was a lot of fun Kathryn, at first glance we thought the beach was fairly clean, but once we started looking around we found quite a bit of rubbish.
Its just sad how disrespectful some people are, you have to wonder what they were thinking. Good on you guys for cleaning up!
Laura, you are so right, some people seem to be very disrespectful toward the environment and our ecosystem. We only have one earth, we had better look after it!
People are so stupid just to throw out their stuff like that.
I know Danielle, it really is such a thoughtless and narrow minded thing to do.
That is awesome that you helped clean up! It’s so sad to see all of that lying around…
We made it an afternoon Brandi, cleaned up the beach and then had a group barbecue. It is very sad to see the evidence of such thoughtlessness littering such beautiful and vital areas.
That sounds like a great community project. It really is amazing how much “stuff” people just throw anywhere they please…
I know, it just boggles your mind to think people would just throw things into the grass, makes me wander what they could possibly be thinking to feel it was OK to do that!
