Have you signed up for the Blogging from A to Z 2012 Challenge?

This time last year I was still very new to blogging, I started in February of 2011.  While browsing blogs I came across the A – Z Challenge and was immediately enthralled.  I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect but thought, what a great and fun way to meet some fellow bloggers.  So, I thought about it for all of two seconds and signed up!

I think I was number 987, or a very similar number, which should have tipped me off to the popularity of this challenge!!

I decided that a “theme” would work best for me and since I love to cook and bake and read recipe books like most people would read a novel…my “theme” was recipes.

I can’t begin to explain how much fun I had coming up with a recipe for each letter of the alphabet ( especially “X” lol) but, more importantly for me, visiting other challenge members’ blogs.  The cleverness of so many people is mind boggling; some people wrote a story for each letter, some poems, some talked about specific words, some of places and people and every single blog I visited was a new adventure that I looked forward to each day.  I met so many nice people and everyone was so welcoming and kind.

If you are considering joining the A-Z Challenge, but are hesitating because you’re feeling intimidated; come up with an idea or a theme and dive in.  You will feel accepted and welcomed and the bonus is the great blogging friends you’ll meet along the way.

Hi Monica! I’m visiting by way of todays’ A to Z blog post. This is my first year with this challenge…I started blogging in Dec, 2011…but I have my theme and researching my letters. Nice to meet you!

    • Hi Donna, so glad you dropped by. I’m very excited to start the challenge too…it’s a lot of fun to participate and also a good way to meet nice people…like you!

  3. Hi, Monica – this is my first time to participate in the challenge, as well, and am looking forward to having a project to work on as well as reading all the creative posts!

  4. Nice to meet you, I found you over at Lee’s site. I look forward to reading your post!
It is going to be quite the adventure!

    • Ella, it is going to be quite an adventure and I am so looking forward to it! It’s very nice to meet you too and I look forward to seeing you in the challenge!

  5. Oh, man, that sounds like it would be so much fun. BUT…. I am not a blogger and don’t know if I could compete with all the amazing blogs (A-Z and otherwise).

    • Pat, you just need to take a leap of faith and the A-Z Challenge is a great way to get your feet wet! I just started blogging a year ago this month and the A-Z Challenge really helped. There will be many people just starting out, published authors, and everyone in between, but everyone is super friendly, kind and supportive. I would be more than happy to help you out in any way at all, I think you would really enjoy it :)

  6. I’m going to give it a try this year so it’s nice to hear about others experiences! :-)

    • Marie, you won’t be disappointed it is fun writing your own posts and even more fun to read what others have written. I’m so looking forward to the start of the challenge.
