“Earth Day Canada announces two action campaigns for Earth Day® 2012 March 15, 2012″
One of the action campaigns for Earth Day 2012 is for kids, classrooms and schools.
Through the kid-friendly campaign, Act for the Planet, Earth Day Canada’s EcoKids program, with prizing from Sony Canada, is offering kids a chance to get involved on their own terms. Kids will have all month long to do something good for the planet (and remind their parents to do their part, too!)
Fun and easy actions include:
- Creating window decals to prevent bird crashes
- Making planters to clean inside air
- Bringing their own water bottle
- Making something new out of something old.
Are you planning some Earth day projects? I would love to hear all about them!
The information contained in this post was obtained from the Earth Day Canada website.
What great ideas. Gives me some ideas to involve the “kids” with a project!!!
I just love the new and refreshing header on your page. !!!
The kids would love to get involved with some of those projects and they seem to be fairly simple.
Thanks Pat, the header is from a trip Randy, the kids and I made to Fundy National Park in 2006…I felt it was sort of spring like.
Wonderful ways to raise environmental consciousness in the young!
Hopefully if they start young, environmental awareness will just become a part of their daily life.
Great ideas indeed. I found one on Fundy Recycling use the little plastic bread clasps to label computer cords on the back of your PC. Apparently they’re too small to be recycled.
Love the header photo….looks lovely.
Great tip on a use for the little bread clasps.
This is a photo I took on a 2006 trip to Fundy that Randy, the kids and I made. It reminds me of spring.
Speaking of photos, did Fundy Recycling ask to use a photo of yours? I saw you thanked them on f/b.
They did. It was for their fb site. The photo isn’t up there yet, though.
Kathy, Let me know when it’s posted.
One way we have recycled is to make pop tab bracelets, they actually are pretty cute I sold some at the craft show.
Stopping by from Pitch it to me.

Minta, what a great idea! Do you have some pictures of the bracelets on your blog?
