Plant for the Planet – Pop Bottle Planter
Did you know that the air inside can be just as dirty as the air outside? Furnaces, air conditioners, dust, dirt, pet fur and dander and sometimes the things we use to clean can make the air we breathe inside not very healthy.
Just like the trees outside, plants inside do a lot for the environment. They absorb carbon dioxide (C02), which is a greenhouse gas, and give off oxygen. Ever visit a greenhouse where they grow a lot of different kinds of plants? Have you noticed the wonderful smells and how good you feel in there?
Growing plants is a great Act for the Planet as you can actually help clean the air inside!
This is an easy and fun activity for the entire family!

Extra action you can take – 1. Once your plant has started to grow, think about moving it outside to be a pollinator garden. 2. Make more! Give one to your friends or family as birthday gifts. 3. Experiment with different bottle sizes and different plants.

Take it up for Earth Day
We plan on doing some clean up in the neighbourhood.
We will be planting a tree in our yard. We’ll also go for a long walk in the neighborhood park.
We are taking the grandkids down to the beach and we’re going to pick up garbage. We’ll also talk about how important our oceans are to us as a people and that we need to protect them.
We’re going for a nice family walk and are planning on not using our car for the entire day.
We will do some planting. And enjoy some time outside away from all these electronic toys!
We are Planting a garden, picking up the yard, planting new trees into a new orchard and cleaning up the existing orchard. We are preparing to build a earthship home so we can live off the grid, ground breaking is this month!
Love the video of the pop bottle planter! I will do this with my Grand kids!
We volunteer at the local hatchery to stock lakes with trout fry in the spring :)
I plan to clean up my yard and bring all my recyclables to the recycling depot.

We live across the street from a inner city wetlands complete with many creatures, like squirrels, ducks, woodpeckers, & Geese. We will most likely have a Picnic there and do our usual Creature searching.
Also picking up Garbage with my two young daughters, we always pick up litter but will make a day of it EVERY EARTH DAY :)

I planned to be outside working in the yard but the weather didn’t cooperate.It was cold and rainy all day.
Celebrated Earth Day by planting a tree. Also made a donation of some money I’d been saving up for Earth Day to a local land conservancy. Thanks for the giveaway.
We pick up litter and plant flowers that attract bees and butterflys.
we spent the day outside with the kids. went to an icecream shoppe and had some icecream and sat outside to enjoy it. was a beautiful day here.

I celebrated by getting out in nature at our cottage! We compost there.
We had great weather so we went for our first hike of the spring and have a re-look at the great scenery
I work for a lawfirm in downtown Toronto and every year, a number of us attend at a park for an hour to gather up the garbage.
We got are yard ready to plant are garden and flowers.
We went for a picnic in the park!

We did a big clean up in our yard and took a walk in the park. Also we cooked our food on the charcoal grill to celebrate Earth Day.

We are going to teach my 2 year old about trees and have her help us plant a garden in the backyard. She loves dirt so it will be great!
We watched some nature and wildlife documentaries that we have on DVD.
I plan on making some with my grandchildren so they too, will know how to celebrate Earth Day!
We celebrated Earth Day by going for a morning hike and then working in the yard. WE planted a large number of trilliums on the hill in our backyard leading down to the ravine and did some weeding. It was a lovely day out.
