Biannual Blogathon Bash ~ Wrap-up Post ~

Well, it was a fun and busy week-end.  In addition to the usual week-end happenings, I participated in my second Biannual Blogathon Bash.

The Blogathon ran from 8am Friday, June 22nd until 8am Monday, June 25th, that’s a possible 72 hours of blogging!

You certainly weren’t expected to blog for the entire time, just to set aside as much time as possible over the week-end to accomplish some blogging housekeeping chores!  How much time did I spend on blogging chores?  Last Blogathon I clocked in 19.5 hours, this time it was just about 17 hours.  I was a bit disappointed in myself…just couldn’t seem to focus on one task…kept getting sidetracked :)

What did I accomplish in these 17 hours?  Well…I have to admit, I was not able to cross off everything on my to do list.  However, I am happy with what I did accomplish and will definitely consider doing it again.  It was great motivation to dig in and tackle some of those jobs that have been put on the back burner.

Here’s my “to do” list and I crossed off  the “chores” as I completed them.

his is what I have on my “to do” list?

  • Work on lowering my Alexa rank.
  • Go back through old posts and add the “no-follow” where appropriate.
  • Clean up and organize my e-mails
  • Participate in the 2 Twitter parties(Saturday June 23 11am EST and Saturday June 23 9pm EST (1 Hr Each) – I scheduled mine in my Google calendar and added reminders.
  • Update my “Recipes”.
  • Update my “Buttons & Things” tab.
  • Participate in the “Mini Challenges” available for this blogathon.
  • Complete three of the reviews/giveaways I have pending.  I did one
  • Visit my fellow “Biannual Blogathon Bash” participants. {List is in left sidebar} Still working through the list :)
  • Add the Alexa verification ID to the home page of Older Mommy Still Yummy…h…e…l…p…!! {I’m a little ashamed to say this was on my last blogathon list :) } **Well…I’m even more ashamed because I still didn’t get it done.  With both that and the Favicon challenge, I finished right to the last step and could go no further, just can’t figure out how to do the last step in each. :(  **

Looking at this list, I feel like I accomplished some tasks that would not have been completed {or almost completed..lol} if I hadn’t participated in this Blogathon.

A big thank you goes out to Kathleen for all the hard work she put in to making this event a success!

Thanks for joining in again. I see your favicon though so you must have figured it out! Can’t help with alexa though, I’ve never done it on a WP blog. Hey 17 hours is 17 hours you hadn’t don’t before right?

    • You’re right Kathleen, not what I had hoped for but 17 hrs is 17 hrs of blog housekeeping! Yes, the Favicon is installed… Kathryn over at Mommy Kat & Kids helped me with the part I couldn’t figure out. I think I may now even be able to finish the Alexa install…it follows the same principles..but, I’ll let you know…lol.
I had a wonderful time and certainly learned a enormous amount. I’m definitely in for the next Blogathon Bash…just let me know when & where I can sign up!!
Thank you again for the HUGE amount of work you put into this!!
      {PS, I’m SUPER excited for my wonderful and much needed prize!!}
