Savour Life’s Moments with Alokozay Tea

For me and many others, tea is one of the simple pleasures in life.  There is just something very soothing and calming about the act of preparing tea.

Take a moment and think back to the special times and also the daily, seemingly routine moments in your life that have centered on the enjoyment of tea.  Mine include:

  • Family dinners
  • Getting together with my sisters
  • Wedding and baby showers
  • Book Club
  • Sunday dinner
  • A morning or afternoon cup of tea with friends
  • While watching television in the evening
  • A 2 PM work break for tea and a snack
  • Curled up in a cozy chair,  reading a good book

Usually the first words out of my mouth when someone drops by my home are, “come in for tea”. While I enjoy my old favourites, orange pekoe and lady grey, I am always on the lookout for something different, I love to try new teas.  In fact, I have an entire shelf in one of our cabinets dedicated to my “tea collection”.

With Easter just around the corner I am planning to make some Easter themed cupcakes for a nearby special care home.  I love to bake and make special treats, but I need to get them out of the house quickly so I won’t eat them all; so this is a win-win situation.  I get to bake and the home gets some treats!

I needed a few baking supplies, so I decided to make a  quick trip to the Bulk Barn.  I love the Bulk Barn and often shop there for baking supplies such as nuts, Belgian chocolate, cupcake boxes, specialty cupcake liners, decorating tips, as well as, seasonal candy, vitamins and other items.  Not only do they have a fabulous selection, their prices are often the best in town.

I live in a small community, but luckily, the Bulk Barn is in a city very close by, only about a 20 minute drive.

I am in love with these cupcake inserts.  They fit perfectly in the cake boxes and securely hold your cupcakes in place.  Plus, they are only 59 cents!

The Bulk Barn always has a very good selection of seasonal items like these cupcake liners, icings, cookie cutters, molds and cake pans.

Every Christmas I make Cranberry Pistachio Bark and I always purchase the nuts and white chocolate at the Bulk Barn.  I always use the Belgian chocolate, it’s a little pricey but well worth the money.

Yesterday, while browsing the aisles of the Bulk Barn, I noticed a large display of Alokozay teas.  I had heard of this brand but had never used it; so of course, I had to pick up a couple boxes to try!  They had a huge selection of premium teas so picking just a couple boxes was tough.

There was Green Tea and Black Tea as well as a selection of specialty teas:

  • Cardamom Green Tea
  • Camomile
  • Jasmine
  • Lemon
  • Earl Grey
  • Strawberry
  • Moroccan
  • Mint
  • Saffron
  • Vanilla
  • Cinnamon
  • Black Currant
  • Peach
  • Orange

How was a girl to pick just one?  After much deliberation, I decided on a box of Black Tea as well as a box of Earl Grey.  These will also be perfect to try for a #CollectiveBias story I am writing.

I always spend a happy hour or more wondering the aisles, but if you are looking to try some of this high quality, premium tea and don’t of have a lot time, I found it on an end display and also right around the corner in the end of the last aisle.

Time to check out and head home…I hear a cup of tea calling my name!

I had spent much of the day running various errands so when I arrived home mid-afternoon, it was time to kick off my shoes, put on the kettle, brew a cup of tea, put up my feet and enjoy the peaceful solitude of a bit of quiet time to “Savour Life’s Moments with Alokozay Tea”.  (Side note: of its own accord my car drove to a local bakery, so I was forced to pick up some date squares to go with my tea!)

I tried both the Black and the Earl Grey teas and I thoroughly enjoyed them.  I found they both had a clean, fresh flavour and were perfect to enjoy on their own as well as with a tasty treat!  My only regret? That I didn’t pick up a few boxes of the flavoured teas, I’m definitely buying the Cardamom Green Tea, Saffron and Cinnamon on my next trip to town.

When do you enjoy having a cup of tea?

What is your favourite type of tea?

Have you tried any of the Alokozay teas?

Oh! Saffron and Cinnamon would be a great one. I love Bulk Barn, sadly my nearest one is 6 1/2 hours away. When I do go, I stock up :)

I just got back from a trip to London, which is the land of tea! I might have picked up the tea habit, so I’ll be sure to look for this brand. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Mmmm all those teas sound so good. I’ve never seen tea with saffron in it before – I’m going to have to give it a try! #client

  6. I am big into cake decorating as a hobby, so I spend a lot of time (and money!) at bulk barn! I will admit, I am not a fan of tea though…I have tried many flavours and brands, and just can’t get a taste for it…hubby loves it though, will have to remember to grab a box next time I am there for him to try!

    • I have tried cake decorating too Ashley and also love getting all of my supplies there! The tea is delicious, so many flavours I’m sure you will find one right for your hubby.

  7. I’m a big tea lover! They all sound great and I’d love to try any of them. I’ll have to keep a look out! I’m also horribly jealous that I don’t have a bulk barn out here! :)
