One of my favourite activities during the Christmas holidays is baking. Back when I was first married, my mom and I started a tradition of getting together for a day long baking session. At the end of the day we each had tins full of cookies, squares and other holiday treats!
Early in the morning, I would put on a big pot of coffee and apple cider, haul out some baking supplies, clear counter space and pop in some Christmas tunes. My mom would arrive at my house early in the morning with pans, recipes and some ingredients in hand. We would then sit together over a cup of coffee or cider and organize our epic day of baking.
We always had so much fun as we laughed and talked over sugar cookie dough and “black & white” squares. It is one of my favourite memories of my time with mom.
My daughter and I have continued the tradition and get together each year for a fun-filled, productive day of baking, girl talk, laughter and sometimes even a few tears.
In this compilation of 35 Amazing Christmas Treats, you will not only find some of my favourite recipes, you will also find some tried and true recipes from some of my Canadian blogger friend. Hope you enjoy this fabulous holiday recipe collection!
