Christmas has always been, by far, my favourite time of the year. I love that the Christmas “season” is far more than just a single day. It seems the only time of the year when we all share a joint purpose. There seems to be some unwritten contract that we have all have signed, promising to be more charitable, appreciative, tolerant and most of all, nicer to each other.

When I think about Christmas, it’s never about gifts, either given or received. My memories always centre on things like family gatherings, seeing old friends, and the wonderful aromas of Christmas baking.

I’m usually very organized, but this year I am quite far behind in everything. However, this past weekend we did start to do a little decorating. I think I am hoping that seeing the decorations will encourage me to do some shopping!

We don’t have a theme, per se, but these past few years we have leaned more toward the red and gold colours. I think I am a bit of a traditionalist, because, to me, those colours say Christmas.

I have been eyeing the Canadian Tire CANVAS Christmas collection. I am loving the variety of “themes” available and the red and gold would be perfect in our home. Honestly though, no matter what your theme, or if you have no theme at all, Canadian Tire have a variety of decorating options and each one is stunning!
