If you have ever suffered with eczema, I don’t have to tell you how incredibly itchy and irritating eczema is. Until recently I had only suffered a mild form of eczema, but lately, it has progressed to a more severe form, complete with eczema blisters.

I find my legs and shoulders especially itchy, to the point where I cannot help but scratch until my skin bleeds. This often makes my rash even worse, which leads to more inflammation and, even more, itching. It soon becomes a vicious, itch –>scratch –>itch–>scratch, cycle that is very difficult to break.

Pure Hazelwood

I have tried different creams, some of which worked well, especially the topical cortisone cream. However, because of the steroids in that cream, I really would rather not be relying, long-term on it and have searched for an alternate treatment.

As a nurse, I know that anti-inflammatory drugs are used in the local treatment of inflammation or the general treatment of inflammatory diseases. They do not act on the cause of the inflammation.

I stumbled upon the benefits of hazelwood, somewhat by accident, while browsing eczema treatments. After doing a bit of research, I learned that hazelwood is very rich in polyphenols, molecules known for their antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, providing natural relief for skin problems.

I was impressed to learn that hazelwood is a natural healing product and has been used by Native Americans for centuries for its medicinal properties. Pure Hazelwood products are made of 100% natural hazelwood from the Canadian Boreal forest

I was also very interested in learning that in addition to eczema, hazelwood is also useful in helping to manage:

  • Arthritis
  • Heartburn and Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Psoriasis
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Teething

I also really like that unlike taking anti-inflammatory drugs, like corticosteroids, aspirin or ibuprofen, wearing wood jewelry apparently has no contraindications or side effects.

Pure Hazlewood

I had nothing to lose, so I ordered a Pure Hazlewood bracelet and have worn it for a little more than two weeks. I am happy to report that while I still have a bit of eczema, the overall the itch –>scratch –>itch–>scratch, cycle has reduced dramatically. I am hopeful that wearing the bracelet will eventually eliminate the eczema completely.

Natural treatments for eczema must be the first priority among the vast array of medical and surgical options. If done by a reliable clinic, they could prove very effective in a short time and keep you away from all sorts of side effects and allergies. http://www.merryclinic.com/
