Ron Hynes, A Canadian Treasure

Ron Hynes, A Canadian Treasure

It’s not often you have the opportunity to watch a songwriting legend perform in an intimate setting.  Such was the case on Sunday, September 1st at The Barrel’s Head Gastropub and Wine Bar in Rothesay, New Brunswick.

Ron Hynes

Seventy-two fortunate souls had the pleasure of watching an absolute master perform many of his most acclaimed numbers.

Although recovering from recent cancer treatment, Hynes’ genius was on full display. His poignant lyrics and quiet delivery captivated a very appreciative audience earning the singer/songwriter two lengthy standing ovations.

Genius is a word that is often misapplied in today’s world. However, if you accept the definition of genius as one who displays exceptional intellectual ability, creativity or originality, then Ron Hynes would score highly on all counts.

Hynes’ music touches our senses the way only great writing does, transporting the listener to a time and place of the authors choosing. We relate to Hynes’ stories because they are our stories, written in the down-to-earth, unspoiled manner that comes from decades of touring this great land and all the trials and tribulations that are associated with that.

Ron Hynes

Set List included such songs as:

  • House
  • Where Does Love Go Wrong
  • The Working Girl
  • No Change In Me

  • The Gunslinger
  • Dry
  • Sonny’s Dream
  • Dogs of War
  • Man of a Thousand Songs

Thank-you Ron Hynes for doing what you do. Godspeed!
