~ CLOSED ~ Sit Stretch Smile Book/DVD Combo by Dr. Howie Shareff – Review & Giveaway

For many years I did yoga quite regularly, however, as it often does, life became very busy and instead of embracing the stress relieving and relaxation aspects of yoga,  I allowed it to all slip away.
Fast forward a few years and I’m going to yoga with my daughter, however, now not only has life happened, so has an illness and my balance is non-existent.
I was so disappointed, I now had the time and a dire need for the benefits of yoga but my body was not willing to cooperate.

Thanks to Dr. Howie Shareff I can now practice  and I don’t have to worry about falling over.
Dr. Shareff was kind enough to send me a 64 page  with detailed colour photos and easy to follow text to allow me or anyone to learn chair yoga and feel better anywhere. The book features chair yoga poses with familiar names such as Cobra, Downward Dog, Five Pointed Star, Plank and many others.
As well as the book there was also an accompanying ,  with a 90-minute runtime set against calming ocean waves.  The DVD is for beginners, novices and teachers, or anyone with a desire to improve breathing, balance and flexibility.
It walks you through different lessons depending on your yoga level and recommends you do 15 to 50 minute sessions depending on your ability and time availability.
It gives you instructions on proper posture, positions and emphasizes the importance of breathing and that every single session should end with a few minutes of quiet mediation to help centre yourself.
I really enjoyed that both the book and DVD gave me easy and clear directions and with those simple instructions I am again able to do yoga without fear of falling over!

  3. I love that it uses 'chair-based yoga'! I actually use a wheelchair, and am always so frustrated that I can't use most exercise or yoga videos/books because I can only do a tiny fraction of the moves covered. This sounds like it could be perfect for me! Thanks so much for introducing me to it! :)
